Central California Basketball Officiating Camp!

Jerry Scott.
Camp Director
Jerry officiated basketball for 37 years.  Until his recent retirement from officiating, he worked D-I in the Big West and spent 11 years in the Pac 10.  He officiated the NAIA D-I Nationals, CCAA D-II Conference and Western Regional Championships, Big West and WCC Conference Tournaments, and the NIT Post Season Tournament.    He began his career with the Kern County Officials Association where he served as Instructional Chairman for 5 years. In addition, he served on Bob Herrold's Officials Camps for 12 years.
Jerry, along with several of the counselors for the Central California Officiating Camp, have received training at the Big West/Pac 10/West Coast Official's Training Camp Directed by Ed Rush (former NBA Referee), Bill McCabe (Coordinator of Officials for Big West & Pac 10) and David Libbey (Coordinator of Officials for West Coast Conference).

This referee camp is for any official, regardless of experience, who wants to sharpen his or her officiating skills.  You'll get critique and advice from impartial experts who can help guide you to the next level.  You will learn game control, preventive officiating, how to work as a cohesive crew, partner communication, individual problem-solving and 3-man mechanics; you will work exclusively 3-person games. Immediately following each of your games, you'll be accompanied by your evaluator for a video critique of your floor work.  Plus, participate in a panel discussion involving all aspects of the officiating experience.   Ask questions!  Hear war stories!  Make new friends!  Be seen! Experience a positive, friendly, supportive atmosphere with officials from all over the country!
